Video Game Composers

Video Game Composers is a sister server to VGML and is the place for musicians interested in composing for games to learn how to take their careers to the next level. Share your works in progress, your wins, and your defeats with colleagues who are working in the trenches along side you. We are a welcoming and supportive community who share time, resources, and insights because we believe that we are better and stronger together. Come and share your journey with a group of talented and like-minded peers, no matter where you are on the path!

Pixel Mixers

The Pixel Mixers community is a place where VGM (Video Game Music) Cover artists can come together to celebrate their favourite series' soundtracks through various means! We have monthly contests of varying themes, series-specific albums, and more fun stuff! Our community is open to musicians of all skill and experience levels, so feel free to stop by!

VVGO

Formed in March 2020, Virtual Video Game Orchestra (VVGO, "vee-vee-go") is an online volunteer-run music ensemble predicated on providing a musical performance outlet for musicians whose IRL rehearsals and performances were cancelled due to COVID-19. Led and organized by members from various video game ensembles, and with a community of hundreds of musicians from across the globe, VVGO is open to any who wish to participate regardless of instrument, skill level, or musical background. Our mission is to provide a fun and accessible virtual community of musicians from around the world through performing video game music.

Sample Pack Contest

Sample Pack Contest is a series of original music-writing contests that began in 2005, originally on VGMusic's forums and now on its own dedicated Discord server.

Users are first asked to submit sound samples, which can be anything ranging from video game noises to famous music clips to the very sounds recorded using your own mic. Then, participants create tracks using only the samples from this pack. In the end, all music is listened to and voted on to determine placing and the eventual winner.

Spirit Level (with Tim Shiel)

Spirit Level is an artist-run, artist-first initiative bought to life by Tim Shiel (whose many talents include Video Game Composer). This is a friendly, mostly Australian/NZ-based group bringing together artists who are exploring new models for music making, and new technologies and commercial models.

Sonic Rush Remixed

Sonic Rush Remix album project creating different styles and flavors Sonic Rush music. If you're familiar with the game, are a Sonic fan or just love composing, we're covering all the main tracks in the game, so you can choose any of the songs available and make it your way!

Final Fantasy Fusion Collab

Welcome to the Final Fantasy (or Final Fantasy I) Fusion Collab! This is the first Fusion Collab in the Final Fantasy Fusion Collab Series, in which we arrange one track of each game in the series in the style of a Fusion Collab to pay homage to the great music of the entire series.
